Biography

Kim Hoyos is a multifaceted video producer, content creator, 2019 Shorty Award Winner, and the founder of The Light Leaks, an online community dedicated to empowering women and nonbinary filmmakers. As a small business owner and creative strategist, Kim’s work is centered around amplifying underrepresented voices both in front of and behind the camera.

Whether she’s sitting across from Bad Bunny or the cast of Barbie, or contributing to a national campaign encouraging young people to register to vote at prom, Kim’s passion lies in creating authentic, story-driven content that connects with audiences on a deep level.

As the founder of The Light Leaks, Kim is committed to fostering a space where marginalized filmmakers can thrive, share their stories, and inspire change in the media industry. From concept to execution, her work is grounded in a commitment to representation and inclusivity, always pushing the boundaries of creativity to spark conversation and elevate diverse narratives.
